This recruitment will be for the post of District Educational Officer in Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (Administration) Service (Group I-B) and Tamil Nadu School Educational Service (Group I-C).
As per TNPSC Notification 2024 any Indian citizen can apply. So the candidate should have any Degree and Bachelor of Law Degree, Knowledge of Tamil for Assistant Commissioner and Master Degree, Bachelor of Teaching Education, Study of Tamil for District Education Officer.

Selection in TNPSC Combined Civil Services Examination 2024 (Group I-B and I-C Services) will be in two stages.
- The Commission will conduct objective type Common Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates.
- After that, the main examination will be conducted for selection to the posts of Assistant Commissioner (Group I-B Service) and District Education Officer (Group I-C Service) in which written examination and interview will be conducted.
- Preliminary examination is only for screening test, hence marks obtained in preliminary examination will be considered for admission in main examination.
- The Commission will prepare the list of qualified candidates for the main written examination on the basis of marks.
- The main examination will consist of written examination and interview.
- Four papers of prescribed subjects will have to be given in the examination.
- The question papers of Preliminary and Main written examination will be in both Tamil and English languages.
- Thus, the marks obtained by the candidate in the main examination will determine the selection ranking of the candidate.
- Final selection will be based on total marks obtained in main written examination Paper II, III, IV and interview.
